Just saw an article from Terrance Ingano on the Clinton Item and he mentions that there will be workshops on the school budget and school choice.
Here's a little snippet, but the entire article is at http://www.telegram.com/article/20120928/COULTER01/109289881/1189/coulter
"During the year, I hope to offer two public workshops concerning school
finances. Sometime this fall, I will offer a workshop on school choice. Money
coming in, money going out, what items are funded by choice, and our dependence
on this fund will all be discussed. In the spring, I hope to offer a workshop on
budget development — just what goes into a budget and the many considerations
needed when preparing it."

Great improvement in attempting to communicate to the entire population of Clinton, we need to be educated as to how the school functions, and it's needs.
ReplyDeleteI really hope people come out & ask questions. It would be great to learn more about this process, before the "panic" of town meeting. I agree that it's also a good way for the entire community, not just those with children in the schools, to get this info.
ReplyDeleteGreat start!
ReplyDeleteNovember to mid Decemeber for school choice presentation mentioned above? But it states possibly in conjunction with the PTA. So guess it is not going to be a public school choice workshop, but a presentation in conjunction with the PTA. Sad to see it's going to be focused to just one group, not that the PTA is not a welcome and good meaning group, but it certainly limits the general public from wanting to attend. I know I would not feel comfortable attending a PTA meeting and not being a member of that group or feeling that I needed to become a member if I attended.
ReplyDeleteWhat night is Mr. Ingano planning this school choice presentation? He said maybe in conjunciton with PTA, he is not doing this on a night with a program the PTA has scheduled is he? And on another topic, WHO is liable for that bus driver situation? The school of Clinton or the bus company? Who holds final responsibility for this?
ReplyDeleteHave I missed the Fall meeting about School Choice? I am interested in School Choice options or my children and I was wondering about the effects it will have on the town.
ReplyDeleteDid these workshops happen?
